Well worth the investment

Paradise to suit everyone.

Lisbon is Portugal’s capital city and star attraction. There is plenty of built heritage to enjoy including gothic cathedrals, monasteries and many excellent museums and art galleries. The Old Quarter is made up of winding cobbled streets where local people meet over a glass of wine and traditional Portuguese food. Portugal’s other great city is Porto, where the city’s Roman origins can still be seen in the many ruins. Porto’s historic quarter is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is made up of winding streets, a maze of stair cases and many old churches.

Nature and picturesque villages – Explore beautiful Portugal

For nature lovers, the country’s finest National Park, Parque Nacional Da Peneda-gerês certainly won’t disappoint. The park is home to a wonderfully diverse range of habitats, including peaks, moorlands, valleys and forests. The area also houses over 100 granite villages dating back to the 12th century where aspects of traditional rural life can still be seen. Portugal also has two stunning coastlines; the west coast has dramatic scenery in the form of craggy cliffs and the cool Atlantic waters provide great surfing conditions. The Algarve along the southern coast is Portugal’s most popular tourist region and it’s no surprise considering the warm waters, constant sunshine and pristine sandy beaches.

The Douro Valley is Portugal’s wine region which extends from the border with Spain across the north of the country to Porto. The Douro river flows though steep channels creating a lush environment which is famed for being the oldest demarcated wine region in the world, dating back to 1756. One of the best ways to experience the beauty of the region is to go on a wine tasting tour which incorporates a number of vineyards and also visits to the areas historic towns.
